25 Things

I found this list on a Notes on Facebook. Firstly, I'm not even sure what Notes on Facebook is. And secondovly, I don't even remember putting it together, but alas! earwax, it exists.

1. I still wish I had gotten that letter from Hogwarts. Everytime I blow out the candles I make that same wish.
I don't still wish that at birthday candles & 11:11s. I wish I had a boyfriend.
2. I have to put eye drops in every morning to survive.
Still True - Naphcon A
3. A boy made me cry in 7th grade science class because he made fun of my voice
His name was Steven Weizel or something like that.
4. My 8th grade science teacher told me my voice was so sexy i should do 900 numbers
His name was Mr. Veech or something like that.
5. I have eaten a June Bug just to "be in the cool group"
I was 14
6. I was class clown
I was 18
7. I'm head over heels for my two little brothers
Still half true - paaa just kidding. Still more true that anyone could believe possible.
8. It is completely impossible for me to grow my nails out
I proved this one wrong! For a while at least - they are mere stubs yet again.
9. I broke my leg in high school
I still have the boot I got instead of a cast. I hated it but it healed me.
10. There is a song called "Aubrey" by a group called Bread. And I know every word. Your dad probably has that CD.
I made myself laugh reading the way I wrote this "Your dad probably has that CD"
11. In the 3rd grade Christmas play my character's name was "The Father"
In 7th grade THeater Arts class play my character was the (male) Court Jester
Story of my life?

and my sister had it on her refrigerator
18. I get annoyed standing in lines
Still SO True
19. Power Pump was the best part about Gold's gym for a while, but than it got to crowded, and now the instructor girl is on bed rest

just not short distance driving

Love Walked In - Vocab Test

I read a decent book. Perfect for airports becasue the writing style was so easy to focus on and conversational. I did have to look up a zillion words though. Not really that I didn't know what they meant or couldn't at least figure it out from context clues - but if I didn't know EXACTLY what it meant I liked to highlight it and see what my good friend dictionary.com had to say about it.

Marisa de los Santos, the author, took some liberties in stretching what some of the actual definitions meant so it was pretty neat to see what they actually meant and how she was using them.

Clever.

Contact Us

"Never mistake movement for action" - Earnest (best name ever) Hemmingway

I frequently come across, even at some of my favorite business institutions,  bad customer service. So what is there to do about it? Complain of course. But complaning, like EH said, is not action unless you do something about it.

That is why I love "Contact Us" on business websites.

Once at Costco (Heaven on Earth) I had an uncharacteristically bad trip. Long story summed up - everything that could have gone wrong before even getting to the door did - but everyone was nice and apologetic and basically made me feeel good about being a customer there even when they were having problems.
THEN
at the door - the employee couting items realized that my water bottles were not on the reciept. They forget to charge me for the water bottles under the cart. So instead of appologizing for the inconvenience and letting me know of my options of going back and paying or leaving the water the horrible employee does this - in this accusitory voice he says"
"You didn't pay for those"
pointing at the water.
I didn't really know how to respond
I paused
so I just said "I just won't keep them then"
He just stood there... tapping his foot... waiting... for me to take it off my cart.

I got in my car, called Costco (you know I had that number in my phone), and I let them know how that whole thing went down.

I DO THIS TYPE OF THING ALL THE TIME!
People think it's weird.

But if I go to Jimmy Johns and the Coke tastes bad - I email them.

If I go to Central Market, and have a great experience all around, except for the abrupt awful rudeness of the catering people. You know they get an email about it.

If bathrooms are in a state of disrepair - you bet that place gets an email about it.

I love it.

I email businesses more than I email friends (that's not true, but lying is fun)

Through Being Cool

once, maybe two or three years ago, some dude told me i was "too cool"
the irony of it was
only a week or two before I'd gotten really back into my high school love
Saves The Day
and decided i needed to be
"through being cool"
also, i don't mean "uncool" as in the nerdy yet trendy things people act ashamed to be knowledgable about (when really i usually suspect it's more of an image thing)
(and this usually applies more to girls that want to be seen as more tough and guy like)
(examples: sci-fi, anime, video-games, the spice girls)

uncool things about me:

i don't like 30 Rock

i am TOTALLY EXCITED ABOUT THE ROYAL WEDDING TOMORROW
(and can't stand girls who go around talking about how much they do not care in order to look so above the lame-ness of all other girls. obviously you care enough to write about how much you don't care in your facebook status)

love them

i always want someone to be there documenting with pictures and posting them on facebook with lighting speed and tagging me up

i don't like the Arcade Fire

twitter

i'd rather read a people/us weekly/glamour/in style/allure etc than anything current event related

i get excited at the thought of seeing/meeting celebrities (from Perez Hilton to Mack Brown)

twilight

i didn't understand inception - i only liked the suits

Lomography

I bought myself an old school plastic film camera
It's supposed to take pictures with interesting color
and weird edges

or you can take pictures on top of each other

So I was out and about on Saturday and I found the most beautiful tree! I went home and got my mom and brother and made them come with me to the tree and took tons of pictures.
Then Grey and I did some other photoshoots, harassing my dog into being my subject,
picutres my fences, etc etc

I thought I knew what I was doing when my film was done.
Nope.
I exposed it.
Oye Vey! Beter luck next time..
