The New York Chronicles

First of all I’d like to say we spent most of our time at Duane Reade thanks to my mothers and my obsession with drug stores.

Wednesday  – Traveling

-Woke up and worked out – I knew I’d be eating myself to death.
-Continental President’s Club in Houston: Fancy Chairs, cheese and crackers, newspapers…. Funny.
-Business First Class!!!! You know in The Holiday when Cameron Diaz is in that crazy technical first class seat that lays all the way down and is so spacious and has a TV….. this is how everyone should travel!

-Newark, N.J. to Times Square via Taxi ---- Through the Lincoln Tunnel, just like Elf said, basically I ended up comparing my whole entire trip to things that happened in a movie or TV show – and mostly Elf.

-Time Square! Lights, fun, people watching, crazy!
-Carnegie Deli – I had to go there, we’ve all heard that Adam Sandler Hanukah Song – and who doesn’t love Jews and food. Biggest Rueben of my life and delicious “New York Style” cheesecake.

-We had to go on a walk after a meal like that – so we went to Central Park and walked around it. So pretty.

Thursday – It begins

Bryant Park, NY City Library,
Empire “State of Mind” Building – Finally getting some understanding of the way NYC is laid out.
H&M! Best accessories ever.

TKTS in Time Square
Pio Pio – Peruvian Restaurant recommended by Mallory – sooooo much food and it was sooooo good.
Mary Poppins – really cute, good stage and costumes and stuff

Friday – Tourists

Took a Subway!
Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island!
Wall Street! – bought a Gyro from a cart with a line full of professionals, Melissa’s excellent suggestions.
Daffy’s – Some Ross type store but with nicer stuff, I got so many good deals on dresses.
Museum of Natural History – DINOSARUS ! but not velociraptors!!!!!

Central Park – More walking
Serendipity 3 – had too, suggested by EVERYONE, Ashley, Melissa, Mallory….

Fall Fashion Week 2010 Kick off all up and down 5th Avenue – went into FAO Swartz, Tiffany’s, Saks Fifth, etc etc etc, models everywhere, free champagne (what what)

Saturday – September 11

Went to Ground Zero – very somber
Walked Across the Brooklyn Bridge

The Gap – smelled like fish and the pants I’ve been dying to try on didn’t fit
TKTS downtown
Little Italy – had lunch yum yum carbs
SoHo – cool stores
China Town – got a picture with Confucius , he had a bird on his head
Yankee Stadium - cool McDonalds next door - had to go get a icecream there
Addams Family!!!! So funny and cute!
Juniors – more cheesecake and jew food!

BEST TRIP EVER! I obviously gained 8 lbs and loved every minute of it.

High Maintenance Goals

I always want to lose weight.

I always want to grow out my nails - and i have been for 6 weeks! It's kinda exciting having actual talons. It does make text messaging harder as well as typing. But whatever, I love it, I'm always accidently scratching myself.

I have always wanted a Brazillain wax and I vow that I actually will get one next year!

I always want to be tan, tan, tanner!

I want to get rid of all acne.

I want to dress more elegently.

I also want to dress more like a hippie.

Just felt like being a little vain and letting the world know about it.

Still Stuck On Eva

So all summer long I've been morbidly obsessed with Evita.
I love the movie (thank you Netflix). I started listening to the Broadway soundtrack all the time at work, and finally gave in and hit up Amazon.com (my love) and ordered the Motion Picture Soundtrack and now it really is all that I listen too. Some of the lines play over and over in my head, I'll wake up singing some random thing Peron says about Evita. It's pathetic. Here are a few I must release.

What is the good of the strongest heart, in a body that's falling apart?
--Evita--

She had her moments, she had some style.
The best show in town was the crowd.
Outside the Casa Rosada crying Eva Peron!
But that's all gone now.
As soon as this smoke from the funeral clears,
We're all gonna see, how she did nothing for years.
--Che--

They need to adore me! So Christian Dior me, from my head to my toes.
--Evita--

You let down your people Evita; you were supposed to have been immortal.
That's all they wanted, not much to ask for, but in the end you, could not deliver.
--Che--

Better to win by admitting my sin, than to lose with a halo.
--Evita--

Please go on, you enthrall me.
--Peron--

You won't care if they love you,
it's been done before.
You'll despair if they hate you.
You'll be drained of all energy.
--Che--

Don't you forget what I've been through and yet, I'm still standing.
--Evita--

There is no one, no one at all,
never has been and never will be a lover,
male or female,
who hasn't an eye on, in fact they rely on,
tricks they can try on their partner.
They're hoping their lover will help them or keep them,
support them, promote them,
Don't blame them, you're the same.
--Che & Evita--

Deep in my heart I'm concealing

Things that I'm longing to say
Scared to confess what I'm feeling
Frightened you'll slip away
You must love me
--Evita--
