A Pomeranian Service Dog---No Joke

Last night for Criminal Trial Practice we had our "final" which was a mock criminal trail at a fancy old federal courthouse in SLC. Some BYU Sociology undergrad class were the "jury" in our trial.

Well, this fat fat fat bearded BYU student with a POMERANIAN service dog was on our jury.
WHAT A JOKE.

I hate that people with imaginary special needs think they need special treatment. Some people have a legitimate need for a service dog, like a blind person you know. And then these people who just want special treatment bastardize the idea of a service dog... with a fluffy orange Pomeranian. What a complete idiot.

Well then, we got to listen in on the Jury Debate since it is essentially a critique of how we argued our case. Well I was the prosecution and this Fatty McBeard starts of with this "It has to be beyond a reasonable doubt, because you know, it is better to let 9 guilty people go free than to convict 1 innocent."
I know I was screwed right from there. This fat liberal pig who thinks that everyone should bend the rules for him, also thinks that this Defendant who was most likely guilty, must be innocent. I hated him so much I almost started crying. I couldn't sleep thinking about how much I hated him and his royal self stroking his dog, his dog that was resting on his fat belly. Yuck to the max. I hate him so much. Liberals are the worst people that ever walked on this earth.

Finals

Finals feel like drowning. 

Except it's cold and snowy and terrible.

FOOD is KING

Except I am. Nothing makes me happier than cooking and cleaning. Last night I used leftover roasted rosemary sweet potatoes, I roasted black beans I seasoned. I made a spicy cheesy yogurt sauce. And we had Sweet Potato Black Bean Tacos!!!!!

 Making that dinner made me happier than getting some work documents completed and approved at work and getting my class reading done - and actually understanding it because I'd had a good amount of caffeine and was unnaturally focused.

Though I have 3 good classes today learning fun and interesting things. and I'm gonna go on a good jog... I can't wait to eat the dinner I put in the crock pot --- Marmalade Pork & Butternut Squash.

It's Been A While Man Life's So Rad

I worked for free all summer for the State of Texas. I'm not so sure I want to be a lawyer....

• Texas Attorney General's Office, Office of the Solicitor General. I worked on the appeal of a murderer. He lost is appeal - the brief I contributed to won!
• Government Attorneys really do work better hours
• Texas Supreme Court, Justice Debrah Lehrman. My work was awful but the people were great.

I went to NYC twice. Saw no Broadway shows....

• But I had Levain Bakery Cookies for the first and second, and definitely not the last time.
• I walked the Highline
• I was with my love/lover

I got engaged. Nothing negative to say about it.....

• We'd hiked the 360 bridge in May so ADW took me back to the other side.
• I knew it was coming. 
• We ate Pappasito's that night too.
• I wish I'd done my hair that day... but I was feeling lazy.

I'm learning there are other kinds of law I like and I enjoy my classes more. I got a job doing transactional law and I'm always so tired between class & work....

• Debtors & Creditors is my favorite class - what???
• Wills & Estates is the nicest Professor that ever existed.
• I'm in a class with my love/lover/fiance/husband

I got married!!! I loved my dress!!! I loved the food!!! I loved that my friends were there!!! I wish more of my friends could have been there...

Hair Hairspray

While I am definitely not morally opposed to hair dying it's not my cup of tea. Mostly because spending money on anything I can neither eat nor wear gives me an ulcer.
But last year I did the ombré thing, and man, it's had a good run. But I'm over it now. I want my virgin who can't drive hair back. But I cannot simply cut the blonde off. (I love that the last sentence could have been "I simply cannot cut the blonde off" and it would also express my feelings quite perfectly.)

I just hate the idea of dying my hair brown but I'm at a loss. I can't bring myself to do that. I'd rather spend all that money on Butterrum Lifesavers.

Doctor

I jokingly said "I need to marry a doctor."

Just the day before my mom had been telling us that about a lady in her stake whose son is in medical school and just got divorced because his wife cheated on him.

So in response to my little joke my mom says "you could date that kid."

I start with "But he's a divorcee." (Mostly just because I like to use that word) and my sister let's me know:
"it's not like you can be that picky anymore."

So there it is folks: I'm at the age where I can no longer have an opinion about who I do not want to date.

Eddy has fixed my computer about 4 times. Every time he doesn't remember helping/meeting me last time but I love him just the same. He could not be more adorable. He absolutely definitely could not be. The little man, little Mexican man, is a perfect combination of hipster and gangster. I've never ever seen it so finely executed.

d) he likes indie music (overheard while helping me: "Can I leave early, I need to go buy my ellie goulding tickets")
e) he's sweet, he always asks "Are you from Texas, you said y'all, my roommate is from Texas" (he says it every time because he doesn't remember telling me before) He also always asks "are you a 3L" cause I look so old I guess.

But whatever. I will adore him for the rest of all time and will always look forward to my computer bugging out. Today some Brazilian bloke helped me out but Eddy was there. Le sign.
