If I Marry A Smith

It's pathetic how often I crack myself up.
And my daughter would be Emma Louisa Smith

Bars, Beats, Battlestar Galactica

I bought pretty much one of every flavor of these Odwalla bars from WinCo (Heaven on Earth) because they are such a good deal at $0.78 each. They make sense calorie, fiber, and protein wise and the flavors sound good.
Well research, as performed my me and my tastebuds, shows that these are not worth it for me. Some people love them though.
I almost ALMOST liked the Lemon Ginger but it had a weird aftertaste that did not leave me wanting more. I just ate a dark chocolate walnut - it was bland.
The Protein one has been the worst. I've got Orange Cranberry left, Berries GoMega, Choco-Walla, Superfood & Strawberry Pomegranate. I'm assuming they will all be bad - but hey, it's good to have in my desk for when I'm hungry.

I'll just have to stick with the $0.98 LaraBars (in Cherry Pie flavor only)
yum yum

Lana Del Rey

My mother told me I had a chameleon soul. No fixed personality, just an inner indecisiveness that was as wide and as wavering as the ocean.

Nona

My grandma died today and when I found out I didn't even cry. I just got in the shower.
Then I went to church and thought of nothing else.
I texted my mom all during church - about other things though - missions and my nieces.

Then my dad called - since I'm too chicken to call my mom - and told me the details.
And finally I just texted my mom and told her I can't call her today because now I can't stop crying.
Geeze.

Tears dry on their own.

Fun Fact:
In Argentina they don't embalm people - so they must be buried withing 24 hours.
So when your daughter lives in Texas, there is no way for her to get there for your funeral.

The Family: Henry B. Eyring

We must have the goal not just in our minds but in our hearts. What we want is eternal life in families. We don't just want it if that is what works out, nor do we want something approaching eternal life. We want eternal life, whatever its cost in effort, pain, and sacrifice. Whenever we are tempted to make eternal life our hope instead of our determination, we might think of a building I took a look at a few weeks ago...

For some of us, the test in the schoolroom of mortality will be to want marriage and children in this life with all our hearts, but to have it delayed or denied. Even such a sorrow can be turned to a blessing by a just and loving Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. No one who strives with full faith and heart for the blessings of eternal life will be denied. And how great will be the joy and how much deeper the appreciation then after enduring in patience and faith now.

A young woman might prepare for a career incompatible with being primarily responsible for the nurture of her children because of the possibilities of not marrying, of not having children, or of being left alone to provide for them herself. Or she might fail to focus her education on the gospel and knowledge of the world that nurturing a family would require, not realizing that the highest and best use she could make of her talents and her education would be in her home. Because a young man and woman had planned to take care of the worst, they might make the best less likely.

Income five dollars and expenses six dollars: misery. Income four dollars and expenses three dollars: happiness (see Charles Dickens, David Copperfield, chapter 12).

If you wish to get rich, save what you get. A fool can earn money; but it takes a wise man to save and dispose of it to his own advantage. Then go to work, and save everything, and make your own bonnets and clothing. [JD 11:301]

Pathetic Realization

I like TV, Movies, the AM Radio, Books, Spotify, Magazines, Twitter, Facebook, (actually I don't like Twitter), musicals, Lord of the Rings, YouTube (actually I hate YouTube), Tumblr, Drudge Report, Music videos, Blogstocking, etc.
Well
I've come to the most pathetic realization. Of all my emotional connections with the above listed forms of media (social, or otherwise)..... I realized today while walking to the refrigerator that I'm most emotionally connected with the characters of Sex and the City.

I'm Miranda and isn't that AWFUL.
Lawyer/Law Student
Red Head/Lover of Red Heads
sarcastic witty B/just a sarcastic B
She marrys a shorter man/I love shorter men
No Nonsense/impatient about other people's nonsense that isn't mine
Decided not to have an abortion/would never ever have an abortion

gross.
But mostly, it's gross how emotionally connected I am with them. Especially the very last scene of the episode Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda - still makes me cry thinking about it. And it wouldn't make anyone crying that only watched that episode, but someone who had seen it all, and understood the emotions right there between Miranda and Charlotte just murder me.
Also - the one where Burger leaves the post-it not to break up with Carrie. Oy.

I'm sorry. I can't. Don't hate me.

Carrie sucks.
Except not her hair.
Or most of her clothes.
Or how she eats saltines in little stacks with jam in between them - that's pretty cute.

I hate these emotions.

"It wasn't logic, it was love."

-Carrie Bradshaw. oy, again.

AND CHARLOTTE MARRY'S A JEW!
